Firstly, we'd like to thank everyone for their kindness and support in regard to the recent passing of my cousin. Your words made us smile, and reminded us that no matter how far away we are, we are not necessarily alone. Big warm thank you to everyone. From the sadness came new work. It wasn't intentional to create a piece that reminded me of my birthplace - where snow falls in winter, where the forests are full of trees, the stickety-uppety ancient ones that we do not have here. You look up, and they go for miles, like Jack In The Beanstalk big! The smell is fresh and cool, the crunch of snow underfoot is unlike anything else. It's a little village winter forest.

It's hard to introduce news like this, but my cousin committed suicide this week. I miss him, and I wish we had the opportunity to talk. We never did. It's been years, and the sea separates us even now. I remember playing in the snow... My cousin, his brother, my brother and me. We were the fabulous four. That winter in Croatia was easily the most fun I had as a child. I miss you Zdravko.

It's summer here in Australia. It's hot, windy, there's that bleached neon light we have here - it's beautiful, but at times also incredibly harsh. We are in the middle of a super sweltering hot week, and as I type away, there's the soft hum of the air conditioner in the background, and Jason (too tired for much else) is reading Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood". With all this heat, we've been getting out and about very early in the morning, and walking through the garden we observe daily changes! Like the peaches that get redder and bigger by the second, or the Mulberry Tree that is nearly finished its run... and then there are all the other flowers, and the birds.... who can forget the birds. And the beautiful dappled morning light. So with summer well and truly in full force, we titled this new piece "Conversations In Summer" in celebration of the garden, the colours, and light we see every day. Available now in our store.

Yep, I made a new word.

It is a good thing I work with colour and not words. Can you imagine the mess the dictionary would be in?! But, I digress. The inspiration for my (as yet unofficial) addition to language is from this beautiful vintage album cover that Jason and I came across this morning, hosted at an equally awesome blog by Julian Montague. We wanted to share this vintage knock-out design with you, while also looking to the future. Yes, this long-running type fixation will take shape in the new inaluxe work for 2012 which will feature typography prominently in our designs. It's very exciting for us, and something we have had on the back burner for a while. Hope you're all enjoying the very early stages of this new year!

I used to love taking photos of the house, our garden, people we see, life as it happens. Got too busy, and stopped doing that, but hopefully this year will see some change there, and some more balance. Rest, harmony, and health. Here are a few photos taken today around the house. I like how the walls are still in undercoat stage - it's proof that they need painting. Just in case I need a reminder!

The lavender babushka is from freckled sparrow and after a year and a half still smells as delicious as ever!

We were thrilled when approached by the super talented people at Ortolan earlier this year regarding having our Kookaburra feature in the Bloom Cosmetics Christmas packaging for 2011. Well the range is out now! and we have to tell you, we feel a little bit proud to be part of such a super Australian Business whose products we have adored for years and years.

Here are a few little images of the packaging. We have the soap trio set, and the candles, amongst other goodies, and they smell amazing, and are beautiful to use. Naturally, like you would expect from Bloom. Sensational quality! So much fun working on this, and seeing it come to life.

We were approached by Bowie Style almost two years ago to be featured in the book, so you can imagine our delight when it finally hit the shelves! Wow. What a year it's been. We can't believe it's only a few days and then it's Christmas. "Where did the year go?" is whispered, and mumbled around here regularly. This is quickly followed by a dazed and/or confused expression.

Unfortunately, even though there are four hands between us, something had to give, and sadly it was our regular posting on our blog here, which we both love, and miss. I think the new year will see longer hours around here, and maybe more coffee! They say you sleep less as you age, perhaps this natural order to life will work in our favour? One can only hope.

Which bring us to catch up.... We are so delighted to be featured in the insideout "top 100" christmas gift guide in the Christmas 2011 edition of the magazine. It was lovely hearing from inside out, and asking if we'd like to participate; always so flattered to be invited and included. And it was a complete surprise to see we made it into the November issue of real living magazine too. If it were not for the lovely emails people send us we would have had no idea!

We had so much fun putting this collection of our owls together, from the ground up design aspect to planning the lovely inaluxe folder that houses them all. I really suck at talking about new work. Truth is, I don't much like talking about it, preferring instead that people engage with it in their own personal way. I will say that this new piece "Aerial" was a blast to work on, and the inspiration was architecture, and form. The name came about while we sat and looked at the work, and realised it could be an aerial view of a city block, a suburban backyard, a country town, mountains, the sea -- the world in miniature! Now available in our shop in super easy-frame size of 8 x 10 inches.

Hello beautiful world, how are you?! Things around here are bursting with flowers, birds, and trees are all going bananas loving this warm and fragrant spring. We have masses of freesias, orchids, blossom trees, and flowers in bloom. The birds are nuts, and that's putting it mildly: crimson rosellas, little finch friends, honeyeaters, willy-wag tails, magpies, and sparrows! And they all appear to have little feathered babies! 6.00am around here is a truly raucous and wild affair! It's bird nirvana. Can't help but be inspired, so here's a little piece that came from our little feathered friends.

It's been about a month since our last post. Things have been busy around here. As well as planning the new range of inaluxe art prints, and some limited edition fabric goodies, we are busy finding time to paint the studio, garden, and renovate the house. But the awesome news today, more awesome than any of the above is that the new range of lanterns by Blue Q have come out, and they are all so gorgeous! We designed two lanterns for this super set - Astra and Rainbow. Art for the mid century and art home. ACES all round! We will be looking at stocking these in our bigcartel store, however, why wait, when you can get yours from Blue Q. The nicest people to work with. They make the best things!

It's cold this winter - colder than usual. It's the time to hibernate, eat hot soup, enjoy roast dinners, drink plenty of red wine, and keep those toes warm. We are feeling it - and as much as we are enjoying it, spring is in the air - and we say YES to spring: bring it on. We are smack bang in the middle of new work, a shop re-vamp, blog and web fun, and NEW larger print sizes. It's a long process really, and we appreciate everyone being patient while we find the time to make these things happen! Slowly but surely.

Happy weekend everyone! Jason and I have both had colds over the last week, have had our backyard re-vamped with trees chopped, trimmed, and some (sadly neglected) turned into bark chips. We are both looking forward to the much anticipated spring. One of our trees is already in blossom! I should take photos, but it's been raining almost constantly for the past two weeks.

There's something really exciting about a winter garden. I know that sounds lame, but think about it... those crisp days when the sun comes out to play and your whole body is toasty warm in its presence. I sometimes think the plants are smiling on such days. Here's a photo of our garden taken today. As you can see, we have geraniums. I love them. They make me think of my childhood. Just can't get enough of how wonderful they smell - same goes for lavender.

I originally thought of calling this shag as it reminded me of a flokati rug, but these things sometimes change, and the final word on the title is Waterfall - just because it's got a lovely flow, and fall. Like the mirror image you see in water. I also have a tendancy to overwork designs, so this is it, as is, no going back and working over it. I wonder if I'll be able to leave it be?

Here's a new piece... inspired by the night sky here in the country. The stars here look bigger than city stars, and the sky rather than seem short or little, is like an endless deep thing - which is what we always think when it comes to night sky? Right? I thought so, but, it's like I'm seeing the night sky for the first time in my life. It's really something else! And then, perhaps I'm just re-discovering the wonder of the sky. There's something about walking through an empty building or home that is anything but empty. I can't describe this without stating the obvious, and in so doing - boring you all to death, but how wonderful that we can walk through these uninhabited structures, and get an instant sense of like, don't like, feel warm and fuzzy, excited, scared, uncomfortable and so on. Generally speaking, empty buildings bring a sense of calm, and with that in mind, here's to a brand new day full of new excitement!

Many years ago someone from art school borrowed my Joan Miro book. It never made it back to me. The thing is, I can't for the life of me remember who borrowed it. I like to think of it now as a global traveller, and a much loved book. But perhaps it is time for me to indulge and buy a new one? Miro was a huge inspiration, and remains so. He changed not only my view of art, but life - and that's where it all starts.

Earlier this year Jason and I were frantically working away on 8 card designs for Earth Greetings.

It was pretty nuts around here - there were birds hanging from the ceiling (read: paper painted ones) four million books on Australian Flora and native wildlife, and our dining table was no longer for eating - it was all paint, paint and more paint. We had a blast - and these are the designs that came out of it all. (Plus a wrap paper utilising the design in the second card from the left top row).

Aside from the great fun we had with the design process, we are really thrilled knowing these are printed carbon neutral, with vegetable dyes, on 100% recycled paper, and they are made in Australia. The idea was for things to settle over easter so we could do some new work, have a break, and well.... sometimes you just gotta go with the flow, and make adjustments! Life is what life is, and rather than get all tangled up about personal deadlines that didn't happen, it's much easier to get on that roller coaster, and enjoy the ride.

Have been meaning to share the work of Julian Newman for ages now -- life just has a way of putting too much in our day! but it has to be said Julian is not only one of the loveliest people we know, but an amazing artist, with a gorgeous feel for colour, texture, and a voice so unique and his own. His work makes us feel like going on a great big adventure. There's this beautiful reflective and deep quality in the art - such lovely eye candy. Just a teeny little note to say we hope you all had a great Easter break. We are presently doing a bit of house painting, and catch up after the renovations. Looks like shells, pebbles, and little flowers. It's a little bit ocean, and a little bit earth. A new ltimited edition piece of 200 finished on the weekend. It's titled "The Great Australian Bight" and available in our store.YAY!

We both had the roughest sleep last night, but we have more to share with you all later today -- including the two winners of our competition giveaway (which is now closed - thanks everyone!). But for now, it's time for plenty of coffee, some fresh air, and a whole lotta berocca! Got to get the b-b-bounce happening. The weekend was hectic - we worked through it on some deadlines... really do need a holiday soon, which reminds me, our shops will be closed for approx two weeks around easter - heads up, as they say!

A funny title for a gorgeously adorable little bird! This is a new print taken from a new gouache painting. It's pouring rain here, and there's that cold, sharp, bite in the air that says "winter is coming..." it's nice. It's even nicer when we have warm sunny days -- which we have had all week!

Having said that, we are getting the house all cosy for winter. I can feel a sewing cushions spree coming on, and or (gasp) maybe some knitting - but knitting should probably be left well and truly alone: I'm a manic knitter. I'm not patient, so I have to hurry it along, and do nothing else until the project (usually a scarf) is finished. I'm also terribly slow at it. Lets just say through sharing this with you, I have realised the sewing is a much better choice - sooo I best get those knitting needles to the op-shop pronto! Have a great weekend! and thank you to everyone who has left lovely, and supportive comments on the design theft, and also entered the competition! Yay Yay!

Today is very exciting! Lots of activity going on in the backyard with building of our deck underway! Might all be finished, as well as the new windows next week! YAY! We will post before and after photos when it's done - promise! Geoff our builder is not only a long time family friend to Jason, but also such a great guy! It's funny to think he knew Jason way back when Jason was only two feet tall... so cute!

We had some bad news yesterday about a design of ours appearing on wooden coasters. - the bad news part is, we did not know anything about it, nor agree to it, nor did we get a licensing fee. So essentially that means, the design was stolen. Really do not understand how people feel ok about casually cruising the internet, and just helping themselves to other people's art work and then making money from that.

Anyway something nice to end on... here's "the happiness..." just worked on this today.

Lots of new birds works in the making this last few weeks! Our work space is literally decorated with bird paintings that hang in massive numbers, providing us with much colour and daily joy! We will add more soon, but here are the first from the new series. Inspired largely by the Australian White Breasted Whistler... so many birds, so little time!

YAY! Inaluxe features in the Autumn 2011 edition of Queensland Homes Magazine. ACE! So much fun. Thank you to Natalie for contacting us, and featuring our work - so lovely! and yep, the art school days did involve lots of late nights, much drinking, bands, parties, and little to no sleep. Ahhhh art school -- those were the days! Just loved it. Having said that -- we still enjoy a good drinkies, but we do sleep alot more now, and renovating seems to have replaced the wild parties! (might be another reason for more sleep too!)

We have just come into autumn, and I'm looking forward to spring already?! Seriously, I love winter, and aside from going away to the snow this year, I think we'll be having our inaluxe business meetings out on our new deck! Rain, hail or shine, it's going to rock! But it will be a few months yet - first we are replacing some old (just about falling out windows) and then the deck.... should all be finished in approximately 2 months - tops! Yipe! more rain, wind and sunshine, good ol' nature just doesn't stop. After some 20 plus years of neglect (aside from the most pragmatically brutal trimming) the garden we inherited with our newish property has flourished after the first decent winter-spring and summer rains in close to 15 years. My old hometown has been part of a drought affected area for that whole time, lakes that I swam in as a kid, ceased to exist.

However, it seems with our arrival last year, the weather pattern has swung back to a slightly distorted, but familiar pattern. Hot hot heat in summer, and rainfall in winter. Of course it's much more swampy than it used to be, and the hot days are a whole new sort of heat. Scorchio!

And what rain we had. Floods in summer, steady rain through winter, the old fruit trees haven't had it so good for so long, they've produced fruit for the first time in over a decade (or so we hear). On top of our usual busy lifestyle, creating art and taking care of the day to day, we have become warrior gardeners, fighting the neglect of the past and trying to usher in a new golden age of new growth and helping the old come back to life. Sadly, the age and neglect have led to some trees collapsing under their own weight, from heavy rain and winds, or too much fruit, if you can believe it.

Picture if you will, the Inaluxe folk, picking up fallen fruit, trying to make pies and harvesting their own vegetables with locust and mosquitoes at our heels. Birds swooping on our freshly fallen pears, picking the figs right off the tree, sparrows, blackbirds, even those wonderful lorikeets making a meal of anything we're too slow to pick up ourselves. Thankfully those cheeky crows (or were they ravens?) have moved on, they were clever enough to hop into the shed and crack open the bag of birdseed I had stashed away!

Even giving away the excess fruit has it's own set of problems, you get an equal amount of some other fruit from a family member, what am I going to do with all these plums I got... does apple and plum pie sound feasible?

A new inaluxe gardening project... we started a big round paved feature in our backyard! YAY! One of the things our property has in abundance are old buried bricks - which we found all over the place! Enough to make something pretty with, and also functional. this area will house a table, and some garden bench seats made from recycled wood. Can't wait to see it all complete. The diameter of this circle of ours is approximately 3 metres across. Here's a pic! Happy weekend all. x

New work - now with a title! Funny how we try too hard sometimes. It became almost instantly apparent that this new work reminded us of the Chrysler Building in New York. Actually, to be complete in the title, it made us think of New York at 4.00 in the morning, through a slightly foggy high rise window-- the rounded art deco and thick strong pattern in it just made sense. Just like the Chrysler Building! Now available in our shop :)

I went to bed last night barely awake when I hit the pillow. It was raining, and the cool change was definately with us. It was the perfect moment, and I did not want for anything else. I woke up feeling great -- knowing that after a busy week, I could rest. So I got inspired, picked up the camera (something I haven't had time for in yonks) and took a few photos of various corners in our home.

The kitchen fireplace. It's really high - taller than me, which means I never see if it's dusty! This is a little collection of things we like - ok, so mostly I collect them.

The view from our bedroom this morning - glorious sunshine! We love lying on the bed and watching sparrows and finches dart in and out of that tree. The old windows will be replaced soon, with new windows that look like old windows! and the curtains will make way for wooden shutters eventually. The second image is from the dining / studio area... an old framed print that belonged to my grandfather, as well as some lovely chalkware fan vases in white -- and an open door! There were more photos, plenty more, but how much can one person write! Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Being born in Croatia, and having spent most of life in Australia, I sometimes miss a little bit of the old world I experienced as a child. It's not the same as living here. So this sentimental nostalgia brought up a bit of art from the old country. Ivan Rabuzin's work really does feel like Croatia. It's how I remember it, and that makes me very happy!

He was born in the village Kjuc, near Novi Marof, Croatia in 1921. Rabuzin's father was a miner, and Ivan was the sixth of his eleven children. Ivan worked as a carpenter for many years, and did not begin painting until 1956, when he was thirty-five years old. He had little formal training as an artist, but his first exhibition of paintings proved successful and he changed careers, becoming a professional painter in 1962. We here at inaluxe HQ love Zaishu. I stumbled onto their website some years ago via a friend who introduced me to their beautiful stools and tables. Sadly, Zaishu are no longer making more Zaishus, leaving some space to start working on some new projects. I wish I wish we'd bought some years ago... for the latest news, and for available zaishus on sale see the zaishu blog and their website.

I'm not sure where people find us, but they do! and we're so glad they do! So it happened with Kate Spade. We recieved a lovely email from them asking if we'd like to be part of their "Year of Color" and of course, we said Yes! The year of color is 12 artist prints (one print for each month). The prints are limited editions, and come in sets of three. January February and March are here and look fabulous!

Our print in the series will be coming out later this year, and we can't wait to see it! We'll keep you posted. So much fun to work on - really awesome people! Here are some Kate Spade faves! I absolutely love the Kate Spade dresses and jackets, and could easily own them all!

Lovebirds

It's been sleepless nights around here all week. Humid temperatures, storms, rain, floods, and now we are stranded. Flooded highway means we can't go anywhere too far. We were lucky to have not sustained any water damage, but getting deliveries in, and mail in, is out of the question. Hopefully the roads open up again soon. Our thoughts and love go out to every single person who has been affected in one way or another by the floods in Australia. Locals in our community are stranded due to flooded roads in Halls Gap, the Pomonal Bridge got washed away last night, making getting in and out of there all the more difficult, and locally, Kato lake flooded overnight. And all this within 15 minutes of us. I can only imagine what else happened.

Jason and I are tired, and we watch the news, and get very emotional at the loss of life that has affected people from all communities. It's heartbreaking, and the resilience, and care people are showing to one another during this is really remarkable. I'm not sure how I'd go.

So this post is a little bit about love really. I wasn't going to go on about it, but well... there you have it. I was going to talk about our new bird print. Jason and I worked on this together. It is a print about love, and perhaps also finished in a timely fashion considering Valentine's Day is around the corner. We tried lots of ideas for a title, and kept going back to Lovebirds, so here it is - Lovebirds! Available in our online store.

It's been too freakin' long! between drinks, or in this case - birds! We really haven't had the time over the last few months... so it's nice to be back on the horse! I could go on with silly sayings, but better if I don't. The only person who will find it hilarious is me! (I'm already laughing just thinking about it). Perhaps deep down I'm a Laughing Kookaburra? Burdened by the inability to know when to laugh and when not to, the striking kookooburra is the first bird of the year for us. The text says "laughing kookooburra in a tree, laughing at you and me!" Happy New Year Folks! We hope you're feeling refreshed, relaxed, excited, and inspired! and if you're lucky enough to be on holidays - hoooray! Things were pretty low key around here - we worked on our garden, bought a trailer load of mulch/bark, laid most of it down, now hopefully our plants will be a little stronger and ready for the unforgiving Australian summer. Did a bit of work on the house, but that's still a work in progress, so more from us soon on that, and pics too hopefully.

inaluxe shop is open again... I think a longer and proper holiday will be coming sometimes in the next month, but for now, we are loving January, and mixing in fun days with work days... and loving life! xo

I'm becoming increasingly fond of sleeping in - not that I can mind you. I have this irritating thing where I wake up really early, even on days I don't have to. I'm not sure about you, but 6.30am wake up on the weekend doesn't really feel like much of a sleep in to me. Like Goldilocks, (change porridge for bed) I could bed hop for a bit, and see which one's a perfect fit. Ha! I think the two below would be a great start.

We have a freestanding early 1900's cottage at our place (it would have originally been the kitchen for the house). It's close to the house, but not joined. Initially we thought it would be a perfect studio, but we've since decided it would be a much more amazing bedroom. It's very big and has the same ceiling construction (as the two above) and beautiful pale grey floorboards. But first it needs to be incorporated into the house, and joined via a proper renovation. That part won't happen soon... but it is something to look forward to. images via pinterest.

Jason likened it to a butterfly, which I rather like, but it has no name yet... just a glorious burst of colour, and a layering that's still something I'm enjoying - alot.

Gosh, can you believe it? It's nearly the end of the year! We're both stunned at how this month has just flown by. So much to do, and soooo little brain energy. I think the coffee consumption at inaluxe HQ has tripled - which might explain why I've been so manic. (Just kidding - I'm always manic!) So the skinny low down on what's happening? Well, we are going to close both etsy and bigcartel stores today (re-opening around the 15th of January 2011) and use the next two-three weeks to hopefully relax, unwind, and paint the house, do some decorating, I'll hopefully do some sewing (which I miss) and I think Jason will be writing a fair bit. There's also the plan of exploring our local area, which we are still very much getting to know - country drives, visit the many small towns around here, and of course, watch christmas DVD's. I'm also going to make some last minute decorations to hang from our kitchen ceiling... absolutely loving the decorations below. We'll be posting on our blog over the break too... xo more soon...hope you're all having a fabulous week!

Friday thoughts are full of weekend sleep in ideas, working out which markets are on, (if any) and whether or not we can be bothered getting up at 7.00am to get to them - before all the good stuff is gone! Living in the country, you also learn there's no such thing as all day weekend shopping - the shops are open for a few hours (if you're lucky!) so it's all a bit of a smash and grab, run, run, run, and get it all finished before you're slamming into a glass door that says "closed". And crying all the way home in the car. (which only takes 2 minutes actually!). I think I'd much rather do some art work, if I can manage it... or watch tacky christmas DVD's! Yep, it's that time of year. Something beautiful to end this post with... a very fabulous bathroom. I can't find the link right now, but I wanted to do a whole post on this gorgeous house... promise I'll sort that soon.

Sugared Almonds is a new print of ours, inspired by the sad demise of our ancient Almond Tree that was destroyed last week in a lightning storm (see post below). And yes, the sudden open space, sawdust and dozens of twigs and scattered half-ripe almonds, make it a bit weird to look at. However, the stump is still there, so we're hoping for some new growth! The new work seems a fitting tribute, many of our regulars have seen it as a work in process, but here's the finished artwork! Just a bit of mucking around... hope you're all having a great week - we are worn out, and it 's only tuesday! I'm not in much of a mood for talking right now - we had a terrible weekend with our very large old Almond tree snapping off in the lightning storm on Friday night. It ended up in the neighbours yard. Three days later , and it is all gone now. Just a very huge old stump remains. Goodbye big old Almond Tree - we did love you! It's been a hectic and big clean up weekend here. The neighbours have been awesome! Poor Jason... bring on the holidays we say!

Here's one of those inaluxe works that never really quite gets finished. Started almost a year ago, I fear it shall remain unfinished as the passion for this particular idea has gone. However, the interest in exploring triangles is still there: perhaps in a slightly more simplified design, and not so chaotic. In summary? I do like finding little treats like this, reminds me we have unfinished business!

An Inaluxe Christmas, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yes, as the year closes to an end, and summer heats up, we folks at the southern side of the world feel the friendly tug of impending Christmas fun. Sure, a new(ish) country home adds a sense of freedom, and these cards provide a sense of completion for us, and hopefully for everyone else - fun!

Our friend the little donkey is the centre-piece of this fold-card collection. He knows the season, and our other colorful shapes offered in the accompanying cards are as festive as anything I've ever seen.

As usual, the team at Inaluxe worked hard putting these sets together. The firm paper sleeves that keep the cards snugly together, are made right here at home. Luckily we have a decent amount of music and coffee to fuel us as we assemble them. And although I think Kristina's photos are a great showcase, you really have to see these cards together to see how much the set works as a whole. Gorgeous!

I might send myself a Christmas card or two just to get the feel of how nice it would be to get these in the mail.

Hooray - it's the weekend! I have a headache of gigantic proportions, so I'm not going to hang about too long, just wanted to update what we've been up to, and remind everyone that today is your last chance to enter our giveaway below. Here's the work in progress for the first inaluxe textile... I started this design about a year ago - easily... but having so many things on the go - it got put on the back burner, never to see the light of day. Hopefully it will be swinging from hills hoists all over backyards everywhere in the form of lovely things - soon-ish. Oh, OK, next year. This time of the year I naturally seem to look over older work. This is a work from a bit over a year ago, re-worked. While I'm working on larger scale bold colour pieces at the moment, I still really like the intricate nature of this design, and it makes me think of needlework and embroidery somehow - and the generations of women in my family who work with their hands. So.... here's to old friends, and memories! Now available as a giclee reproduction here. Yeeeah!

Is there anything finer than the feeling we get when we find something amazing? I don't think so - passion for life, and pleasure in new discoveries, be they friends, lovers, or objects is what makes the world go round. some might say money, but what good is money if you can't experience beauty and fascination? (getting away with myself here) So anyway I found something today that I just love: and yes, I bought it. It reminds me of growing up in the 70's and the giant lit up Skipping Girl billboard in Richmond... way up there in the sky. I loved seeing it - made my day! I suppose I was pretty little, so it was extra amazing. This beautiful work is from GretelGirlDraws. A gorgeous Australian shop definately worth checking out.

sub-atomic ant dance

Well, here it is... the finished piece! And with the help of Jason - the title: "sub-atomic ant dance." I laughed when he said it, and it's perfect. Ants having a blast! Available as an A4 giclee in our online store, and also on etsy.

Thank you for the red suggestion Kylie :) and to Jase for sifting through the multitude of red, pink and orange combinations until we finally got there.

It strikes a chord with me, and while I love talking in general, I'm not much for sharing why I love art work in detail, preferring instead to share the visual experience. The Franck Juery website is a place where you could easily lose yourself for quite some time. Love it.

60 reasons

I have about 60 things to do today. Seriously. I might be blind come 11.30pm this evening, but I will manage it - somehow. Luckily, this 60 things to do is shared between Jason and myself. All I can say is thank goodness inaluxe is a twosome! and not a lonesome. One way of dealing with such a busy day is taking time out to do normal things - like blog! (even though I feel very naughty, but maybe that's the appeal).

So I really wanted to blog about this amazing sofa for sometime now, and I would very much like to own one! Even the name is beautiful - Uki. And who can go past the stunning grey. It might mean a trip to the big smoke, but it's on my wishlist. Another beautiful design from one of our favourites - Jardan.

Of course, I think this bed is fabulous, and would work beautifully in our home, but then all the above pieces from Jardan could very easily fit right in! choices choices. My minds still firmly planted on Uki, oh okay... and that bed! Off to eat now... and then onto the 59 things on the list. Have a gorgeous week! xo K

papery things

In all my years of sewing, I've never made a garland. It's unbelievable when you think about how amazing they are, what fun they are to put together, and how exciting it is seeing it all come to life. So anyway... I was tidying up today and found a little paper box, whose contents turned out to be bits of paper, and fabric I started saving a few years ago. So in an effort to reduce the amount of "Stuff" I hang onto, I decided to give the garland a whirl, and well... it was fun, very relaxing, and for a little while I didn't think about anything but cutting paper, and sewing. Lovely. Here it is hanging from our shade in the bedroom. Final destination unknown, but I think I am going to like waking up in the morning and just looking at it for a while.

new pattern pack
